The Role
Lark is looking to hire a talented Data Business Analyst to join our growing team! The Business Analyst is a central role on our Product team, working at the intersection of business strategy, client requirements, and data delivery. You will collaborate closely with the Product team (strategy and vision), the Data Science team (execution and delivery), and technical data teams (engineering, science, reporting) to ensure our health coaching platform delivers reliable, tailored, and impactful reporting to clients.
If you’re passionate about data, driven by impact, and excited to work at the intersection of healthcare, AI, and human-centered design, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
Triage and Prioritize Requests: Holistically evaluate and prioritize external data requests, bridging business and technical teams. Requires a strong understanding of data architecture, pipelines, and analytics to ensure successful handoff and execution. Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical/data teams, requiring a strong understanding of data architecture, pipelines, and analytics.
Proactive Risk Management: Identify and manage risks unique to data (e.g., security breaches, integration failures), collaborating with the Security team and escalating issues as needed. Collaborate closely with the Data Governance team to manage risks related to data privacy, integration, or delivery breakdowns.
Requirements Translation: Translate business and client needs into clear, detailed specifications and user stories for data/analytics engineers, data scientists, and analysts, ensuring alignment with both short-term client expectations and long-term product strategy.
Data Collection Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with the Product , Data Science, and Analytics teams to ensure reporting designs and upstream data collection align with strategic company objectives and scalable future needs.
Quality Assurance & Iteration: Review initial report outputs, validate accuracy and relevance, and iterate based on feedback to ensure outputs meet client expectations and business value requirements.
Partner File Specifications: Develop, standardize, and maintain specifications for files required by partners, ensuring accuracy, thorough documentation, and compliance with client expectations.
Business Needs Discovery: Identify high-level data business needs and collaborate with the Product Manager to define clear solutions and measurable success criteria.
Continuous Feedback & Improvement: Gather and synthesize feedback from clients and internal teams to inform reporting enhancements, identify inefficiencies, and drive improvements in usability and satisfaction.

Proven experience as a Business Analyst in client-focused, data-driven environments (healthcare, wellness, or highly regulated industries preferred)
Strong understanding of data flows, reporting systems, and data lifecycle from collection through delivery
Ability to think strategically while sweating the details — translating business needs into scalable, measurable reporting solutions
Experience defining metrics and success criteria for data products or reports
Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with strategic (Product), delivery (Program), and technical (Engineering/Data) teams
Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments
Familiarity with healthcare data privacy and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR) is a plus
