The Role

Lark is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer, with an enrollment funnel optimization focus, to play a critical role in driving new enrollments through our user enrollment experience. You’ll be on a cross-functional team of Frontend and Backend Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Marketing Analysts, and Product Managers, with the shared goal of optimizing the end-to-end user enrollment funnel.

In this role, you will be responsible for iteratively designing and executing on ideas to increase the number of users making it through each step of the funnel. The team will look at creative approaches to reimagine our users’ first touchpoints and improve conversion throughout the experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable features in our frontend enrollment flow and supporting backend systems, optimizing user experience in the enrollment process

  • Spearhead experiments and initiatives to improve conversion throughout the funnel

  • Instrument each step of the funnel to measure and monitor baseline performance

  • Set up AB tests to measure our impact and to quickly launch positive changes

  • Be quality driven: write automated tests to achieve high code quality through test coverage

  • Support a culture of engineering best practices, with an emphasis on observability, documentation, and risk management

  • Mentor and give feedback to other engineers including through regular code and design reviews

  • Follow and better define coding guidelines to ensure the security and privacy of our user data

What You’ll Need

  • Experience with frontend web development with React/Typescript (NextJS experience is a plus)

  • Experience with backend systems using Typescript, Node (Golang experience is a plus)

  • Eye for automated testing to reduce regressions and reduce bugs

  • Monitoring and alerting best practices, experience with technologies such as Grafana or Datadog a plus

  • Previous experience with iterative funnel optimization on a cross-functional team is a plus

  • Previous experience in a senior or lead-level software engineering role

  • Experience deploying services with Kubernetes, Docker, and Lambdas

  • Knowledge of AWS technologies such as DynamoDB, Lambdas, EKS
