About Starboard

Starboard is a mission-driven SaaS platform securing critical infrastructure and operations for governments, defense agencies, and high-stakes enterprises across NATO and FVEY countries. We bridge the gap between advanced security capabilities and real-world operational constraints.

The Mission

As our Product Designer, you will own the end-to-end user experience of the Starboard platform. This isn't just about making things look good - it's about balancing deep user discovery with the creation of scalable, holistic design systems that help protect critical infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Discovery: Partner with Product Owners and Engineers to uncover the "why" behind complex customer needs.
  • Complexity to Clarity: Translate dense, data-heavy requirements into logical, efficient workflows.
  • Systems Thinking: Lead our modular UI/UX framework and maintain our Figma "source of truth" to ensure engineering can ship at pace.
  • Technical Collaboration: Bridge the gap between design and code, working with Front End engineers to ensure technical feasibility.
  • Craft & Quality: Maintain a high bar for design craft, ensuring that speed of delivery is balanced with a meticulous attention to detail and interaction quality.

What You Bring

  • Experience: A proven track record in Product Design with a balance of research and design systems management.
  • Figma Mastery: Expert-level skills in Variables, Auto-layout, and Components.
  • Technical Mindset: A strong "mental model" of web technologies and front-end feasibility.
  • Portfolio: Evidence of solving complex UX challenges and building scalable design foundations.
