Role​ ​at​ ​a​ ​Glance:

As the Director of Engineering, you will manage and mentor a high-performing team of senior engineers, define and execute the technical strategy, and work cross-functionally with the product team. You will play a critical role in architecting scalable systems, driving process improvements, and building a world-class engineering culture. While your focus will be on strategic and architectural leadership, you will also play a key part in scaling the team and ensuring the delivery of complex, high-quality software systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 9 senior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Strategy: Define and implement the technical direction, ensuring the alignment of engineering efforts with business goals.
  • Hiring & Scaling: Lead hiring efforts to grow the engineering team as the company scales, ensuring the addition of high-caliber talent.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process improvements across development, QA, and deployment cycles, promoting operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product team to ensure smooth alignment between product vision and technical execution.
  • Architectural Leadership: Oversee the evolution from monolith to microservices and the integration of evented systems, ensuring scalable and robust system architectures.
  • Technical Debt & Scaling: Address technical debt, optimize infrastructure, and scale systems to meet the growing demands of the product.
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience with Python, AWS, microservices architecture, and evented systems.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps, cloud platforms, payment systems, and blockchain technologies.
  • Strong background in startups, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Leadership & Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and resolve conflicts within the team.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including vision, integrity, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Ability to balance strategic decision-making with hands-on involvement in technical and architectural decisions.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
