We are looking for a Deployment Manager to lead and execute complex customer deployments of OSARO's smart automation solutions. This role is a hands-on, player-coach position that combines deep technical deployment expertise with formal people and program leadership. The Deployment Manager remains directly involved in on-site execution while owning the successful delivery of multiple parallel deployments and leading deployment engineers through challenging customer environments.
OSARO combines advanced machine learning software with the services and industry expertise needed to deliver improved sight and skill to existing robot applications, while enabling new applications for the factories and warehouses of the future. Our products endow industrial robots with the level of autonomy needed to perform an extensive variety of pick-and-place tasks and integrate tightly with our customers' complex software environments.
As a Deployment Manager, your focus is on the customer and on execution. You will intimately understand OSARO's technology and the customer's needs and environment so that deployments are delivered successfully under real-world constraints. You are ultimately accountable for deployment outcomes and serve as the primary onsite and execution leader for OSARO. We value leaders who are passionate about what they build, feel a strong sense of ownership over their work, and thrive in high-pressure environments. You are someone who cares deeply about your team, leads from the front, and believes in doing what you say.
What you'll be doing
- Own and lead multiple customer deployments in parallel, from onsite kickoff through production handoff
- Serve as the primary on-site OSARO leader for complex or high-risk deployments
- Manage and develop Deployment Engineers, including performance management, coaching, and professional growth
- Coordinate cross-functional execution with Software, Hardware, ML, QE, Manufacturing, and Support teams at HQ
- Drive deployment planning, issue prioritization, and execution sequencing to keep projects moving forward
- Perform hands-on on-site commissioning of robotic systems, including hardware, software, controls, and networking
- Act as the escalation point for customer issues and internal execution blockers
- Ensure all system performance expectations are met prior to Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and customer training
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers and internal stakeholders on status, risks, and timelines
- Log, track, and drive resolution of site issues across engineering, deployment, and support teams
- Establish and enforce deployment best practices, standards, and processes across the team
- Travel extensively to customer sites, often for extended periods, including long onsite hours during critical phases
Experience and skills you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in deployment, field engineering, systems integration, or a closely related technical field
- 3+ years of formal people management experience, including direct reports and performance ownership
- Experience managing multiple parallel projects or deployments simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure and make execution decisions in the field
- Hands-on experience with industrial robot controllers (e.g., FANUC, Yaskawa)
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, software, and networking diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Comfortable navigating and working in Linux environments
- Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly articulate project information at all levels
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines and a high-ownership culture
- Willingness and ability to travel 75–100% of the time
Bonus if you have
- Experience in system, electrical, or mechanical design in factory or warehouse automation
- Experience with CAD tools for system and layout design
- Experience with simulation tools for offline robot programming and layout validation
- Exposure to PLC programming and industrial control logic (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
- Exposure to Python or Rust
- Experience generating technical documentation, deployment playbooks, or process standards

OSARO automation systems bring together advanced machine learning for object recognition with powerful control software that adapts to customer data and environments. The company's robotic piece-picking solution is optimized for grocery, cosmetic, and e-commerce markets, where key challenges include high SKU inventories, complex packaging, and fragile items requiring delicate handling.
OSARO solutions have been validated by the world's leading retailers, system integrators, and third-party logistic companies. Some of Silicon Valley's leading investors, including Peter Thiel, Jerry Yang, and Scott Banister, have backed OSARO. Our mission is to make robots smarter for a smarter supply chain, and our vision is to build the future of automation. The challenge of building brains for robots on an industrial scale is matched only by our excitement and drive to see the results of our efforts operating in real warehouses, factories, and fulfillment centers. We implement state-of-the-art techniques but constantly strive to build the simplest possible solution.
OSARO is technique-agnostic and always focused on the goal. We have a highly international team made up of expert machine learning practitioners and dedicated software and hardware engineers, matching well with the global nature of our business. We value curiosity, healthy debate, and respect for diverse perspectives.
