Who you are
Metropolis is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join the Operations team. This entry-level managerial role involves helping oversee operations at one or more locations, including supervising at least two full-time employees or their equivalents. When the Operations Manager is unavailable, you will manage the location(s) directly, or you may be responsible for a small, unassigned location. Your duties will include ensuring all operational aspects—such as team performance, customer service, financial management, maintenance, and safety—meet Metropolis standards.
What you'll do
- Assist in managing, mentoring, and developing a team of hourly employees. Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations to ensure continuous growth
- Collaborate with Operations Manager to schedule shifts and verify time & attendance tracking
- Plan, organize, and manage the work of hourly team members, ensuring team members are deployed appropriately and tasks are completed in accordance with organizational requirements and Metropolis standards
- Partner with the Operations Manager and/or Area Director to interview and hire team members who are ready to make an impact
- Work with Operations Manager and Area Director to control spending and keep expenses within approved budget
- Maintain maintenance control documents while meeting maintenance goals
- Promote safe work practices by conducting safety audits and coaching individual staff members and ensure the team completes all necessary training, setting everyone up for success
- Maintain essential maintenance control documents and meet all maintenance goals, supporting our reliable and always-on systems
- Complete and record all client operational documentation for both client and Metropolis records
- Ensure the Metropolis standard of exceptional customer service is met at all times
- Communicate with customers and staff for general inquiries about parking, parking locations, and customer service inquires
- Perform specific operational responsibilities as required by the unique needs of the assigned location, demonstrating agility and a bias for action
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age or hold a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have the ability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support a 24/7 operational environment
- Comfortable working in all outdoor weather conditions as part of operating in the real world
- Ability to travel to and from local assigned client sites as needed
- Strong work ethic and the tenacity to commit to extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines and complete a job successfully
- Proactive awareness and quick judgment to identify and address safety concerns, prioritizing the well-being of our team and our customers
- Effective communicator who connects well with team members and customers, exchanging clear and accurate information in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to keep all work-related information confidential

While not required, these are a plus
- Some college coursework is preferred
- Prior business experience that allows you to quickly hit the ground running and add immediate value to our operations
- Familiarity with scheduling and payroll systems
