The Role
We’re seeking a strategic and dynamic Internal Communications Manager to ensure our 23,000+ employees spanning corporate offices and field teams are informed, aligned, and inspired.The Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for developing, amplifying and executing a comprehensive internal communications strategy that connects employees to Metropolis' mission, vision, and business priorities. Reporting to the Director of People Communications, this person will work closely with leadership, HR, and cross-functional teams to enhance transparency, drive engagement, and foster a strong company culture while being a strategic thinker.


Responsibilities
  • Develop & Execute Strategy – Create and implement an internal communications strategy that effectively informs and engages employees at all levels. Manage internal communication channels and ensure consistent and timely dissemination of information.
  • Executive Communications – Partner with senior leaders to craft compelling messaging that resonate with employees.
  • Multi-Channel Communication – Utilize a mix of mediums—including written, video, audio, and live events—to communicate key company initiatives.
  • Field Team Engagement – Ensure that internal messaging reaches and resonates with employees in diverse work environments, including field teams and hourly employees.
  • Crisis Communications – Support communications leadership in navigating sensitive internal communications, including crisis response, organizational changes, and urgent updates.
  • Culture & Engagement – Champion company culture by developing storytelling campaigns, employee spotlights, and leadership Q&As. Build and maintain strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization while championing Metropolis's values through internal communications.
  • Measurement & Optimization – Track effectiveness of internal communication efforts and refine strategies based on feedback and data.

Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of experience in a communications capacity
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Experience in both internal and external communications, preferably within a high-growth, technology-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with internal communication tools like Slack, GSuite, and enterprise intranet platforms.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and develop deep relationships across multiple teams within a growing organization.
  • Strong presence and the ability to advise senior leaders.
  • Proficiency in multiple communication formats—including long-form written content, short-form messaging, video scripting, and Town Hall meetings.
  • Experience communicating with large, distributed workforces, including frontline or field-based employees.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-stakes situations, with experience in crisis communications as a plus.
  • Deep understanding of corporate communications best practices, employee engagement strategies, and internal brand positioning.
  • Experience working in organizations with global or multi-location teams.
  • Bonus: Hands on experience with video creation, production and editing.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.
